brand identity
el pastor is a mexican restaurant in beirut with a tulum-inspired spirit, named after both the iconic taco and its home on pasteur Street.
at its center is the scorpion, drawn from mesoamerican symbolism and reimagined as the brand’s totem, featured in a hand-hammered copper mural inside the space.
we crafted a hand-drawn, earthy identity system that feels sunbaked and mystical, extending across signage, menus, and materials.
the logo plays on the linguistic overlap between arabic and Spanish: we treated the “el” the same way we treat “ال التعريف” in arabic, merging the E and L into a single typographic form.
